“Ouissal” means “bridge”, “connection”

Kickoff Meeting of the Ouissal Program for Women Entrepreneurs in Casablanca, Morroco

The Euro-Mediterranean Association (EMA) is a regional association for German businesspeople and entrepreneurs engaged in fostering cooperation and international understanding between Germany, Europe, and the Mediterranean and Middle East region. One of the projects EMA has initiated is the #Ouissal Cross-Culture Mentoring Program for female entrepreneurs.

The Arabic word Ouissal means “bridge” or “connection”, reflecting the objective of the German-Arab Mentoring Program: connecting female entrepreneurs in the context of common learning processes and intercultural exchange. The program is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

A heartfelt thank you to Clara Gruitrooy, the founder of Ouissal and Secretary General of EMA e.V who invited me to participate as a mentor at the kickoff week in Casablanca, Morocco. Kudos to the Ouissal team who made sure all participants had an impeccable experience.

During the Kickoff week we had the opportunity to attend insightful presentations and interactive workshops; work with our mentees and taste the local cuisine and hospitality.

I am looking forward to a fruitful collaboration with my mentee and to the Ouissal wrap-up meeting in Berlin in November 2024
